Computerworld Australia has compiled a list of upcoming technology events for the Australian IT industry taking place in the following weeks and months.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person conferences and summits may be rescheduled or canceled unexpectedly, so be sure to verify an event’s status before scheduling travel.

This list will be updated as we hear of more events so keep checking for updates.

September 2020 tech events

1-2 September: Forrester’s Summit Asia Pacific will take place featuring more than 40 sessions for B2B and B2C marketing and CX leaders looking to align organisational priorities and grow revenue in this unprecedented business environment.

1 and 8 September: Google Cloud Next OnAir continues its webinar series with virtual break out sessions, learning and development opportunities, digital demos, and one-on-ones with Google experts. This month's sessions will cover cloud AI and business application platforms.

2 September: Melbourne Tech Geeks group will host Python - The best fit for data science, for data engineers and scientists. The Zoom meeting offers a space to share and learn data science and related technologies with experts on the subject.

3 September: The Startup Jobs Expo will be held online from 4pm to 6pm, and participants can meet startups that are hiring. This includes technology, health and medtech, finance, and agritech companies.

3 September: Engineering and IT grad career expo 2020 will be held online providing the opportunity to meet employers to discuss job opportunities and graduate programs and to learn more about the tech and engineering industry.

3 September: IDC Australia and New Zealand will host a financial insights’ conference focusing on how Asia’s financial institutions are taking different paths to recovery.

8-10 September: Nutanix has a virtual version of its annual Nutanix.Next conference focused on hybrid cloud, hyperconvergence, devops, automation and security.

14-16 September: The Enterprise Architecture Summit will take place in a virtual format. The event will focus on supporting enterprise architects to find ways to reassert their value, role, and relatability to stakeholders and executives.

15-16 September: apidays Australia will focus on how APIs are changing the way we communicate, collaborate and work for banks and fintechs, enterprises, DevOps and others.

15-16 September: Infor's annual Inforum user conference will go online for the first time featuring key industry experts, customers, live product demos and an interactive and informative experience for users to network with peers and Infor experts.

23-24 September: IDG Communications Australia, in partnership with IDC, will host its annual CIO Summit which this year will focus on The Future of Enterprise: Digital Transformation 2.0. The event will be held virtually for the first time and it is free with attendance limited to chief information and digital officers, IT directors, general managers of IT and their direct reports.

29 September-1 October: Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC) is being relaunched as a free virtual event and will cover new and better ways to succeed with Apple devices in the enterprise with the purpose of empowering people, transforming business processes and making IT life easier.

29 September-1 October: VMworld 2020 will also take place virtually this year. The annual conference will focus on multi-cloud, K8s, app modernisation and digital workspace.

October 2020 tech events

8-9 October: Slack will host its Frontiers conference in a virtual format. Attendees will have the chance to hear how customers and industry leaders are transforming their businesses, discover best practices for developers using Slack and connect with the greater Slack community.

12-16 October: The annual Agile Australia conference, AgileAus20, is scheduled for 12 and 13 October in Melbourne with workshop days scheduled for 14 October in Melbourne and for 16 October in Sydney. The event includes sessions on culture, tools and tech, case studies and interactive ‘Deep Dives’ for the agile community.

26-29 October: Gartner’s annual IT Symposium/Xpo brings CIOs together in a virtual event this year to hear from research experts and leading solution providers.
